Favorite FI6 Recipes

I know Fit in Six can be hard to get adjusted to, that's why it's nice to hear what everyone else is eating! One of my family's favorite FI6 recipe is our wheat pizza.

Wheat Pizza

Dough:
1 TBS yeast
4 tsp sugar
2 1/2 cups of flour (i put in about 3/4 cup of white flour instead so it's not soooo heavy)
1 C warm water
2 TBS oil.

Dissolve yeast into water, stir in other ingredients, knead, let rest 5 minutes before pressing into pan.

Toppings:
pizza sauce (can make your own or buy lower fat version)
mozzerella cheese
chicken
spinach
tomatoes
green peppers
olives
onions, etc.

Bake at 425 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

My daughter thinks we're having "real" pizza and everyone is happy!!

Getting to Know You.....

This is our favorite part of Fit in Six, getting to know everyone!!

Amanda & I have been friends since we met on Amanda’s first date 10 years ago. We ditched the boys and stayed friends. :) We kept running into each other over the years and after we got married we were lucky enough that our husbands got along so well, it pretty much cemented our best-friendship. She’s been my great little partner in Fit in Six and is taking more of a backseat this round (her life is nuts right now!) Amanda introduced herself so well last round there’s no need to re-do it! Click Here to get to know her better.

I’m Lori. I live in Utah with my awesome husband, Van, of almost 7 years, my two little girls Jaylee (5) and Reagan (8 months). We love to travel, watch funny TV, play games, hang with those we love, and keep busy entertaining our children. For the time being I have the opportunity to be a stay-at-home Mom, which has its days, but overall I’m grateful that “home” is my job. My husband works in the medical field and is currently applying for Physicians Assistant school, paperwork is sooo much fun!!! In my previous life I relished in research. I graduated in history and English and worked as a researcher/editor. I’m a N.E.R.D. but I love learning random things.

I love to do anything active; whether that be running, lifting, hiking, biking (well… I’m trying to like biking), playing with the kids outside or just going for a nice walk… I like to moooove. Amanda & I are currently training for the Ogden Marathon which takes up most, if not all, of that “moving” time. But, I’m really excited, this will be the 2nd marathon I’ve done. Yay!

Fit in Six is a great way for me to take care of myself. I have a thyroid condition and losing weight has been a continuous struggle. Fit in Six has been a great way for me to check my healthy habits and keep my body on track. Although I give into my vices sometimes, it really comes down to the fact that I feel so much better when I'm living healthy, eating right, and consistently exercising then I do when I'm eating junk food and not exercising.

We can’t wait to get to know you! Click “comments” below and introduce yourself!!

Hello everyone! And welcome to Week 4!!!!!! That means you are half way there! Congratulations! Give yourselves a pat on the back! Do you think I could use any more exclamation points? Anyway, I'm so proud of you all for making it this far. I always feel like in projects that if I get half way through, that the last half is easier. I hope you find yourself forming new, healthy habits, and that it's getting easier and becoming more of your routine as you go. :) Thanks to everyone who posted a little about themselves on the blog. I love getting to put some more information with your names other than an email address. ;) If you haven't had a chance to tell us about yourself yet, please do so! I love getting to know you all better. This week we have 2 items of business. First, the Daily Calendar that I know you're all just waiting with bated breath for, and secondly the beginning of our first mini competition. Getting To Know You!

This has been one of our favortie parts about running Fit In Six. We love getting to know other people and hearing about what motivates you! So to start out I will introduce myself and then you can click on the comments to do the same! One of our participants, Elisabeth, already posted on the week 3 post. So be sure to click on the comments and check her out!

As you all know my name is Amanda Van Orden, and for those of you that only know Lori, she is one of my bestest friends. We actually met on my first date and then over the years kept running into each other and have forged a really strong friendship. I am married to the love of my life, Jared, and we have been married for 5 1/2 years. We live in Utah and have the cutesest dog ever.
He is a black pug, his name is Winston and he is my baby! Jared and I are currently trying to adopt a baby and are hoping that we will be placed with a child soon. Currently I work as a nurse at the county health department. In my spare time I enjoy running, playing soccer, reading, photography, organizing and cleaning my house, being with family/friends, and playing the piano...oh, and shopping, much to my husbands dismay. ;) I got involved with Fit In Six through Lori as we participated in a similar competetion a little over a year ago. We liked it so much that we decided to tweak it and keep running it ourselves. I have always enjoyed a fairly healthy and active lifestyle. My biggest weakness is my addiction to chocolate. I have to work REALLY hard at curbing my chocolate needs and Fit In Six defnitely helps with that. I also enjoy Fit In Six because it's a well rounded program and helps me get my body the nutrients it needs, helps motivate me to get the exercise I need and also encourages me to develop my spirituality. Right now I am motivated by Lori's and my goal to run the Ogden Marathon in May. Training makes me focus so much more on this aspect in my life. I'm excited to run it! If you want to know more about me and my random thoughts you are more than welcome to visit my blog at www.punkinsinlove.blogspot.com.

Favorite Recipes

Hey everyone. I totally forgot that it was Thursday, so I'm sorry for any confusion that I may have caused. This is the post that I would like you to post your favorite Fit In Six recipes on.
To get it started, here is one of my favorites!
Parmesan Potatoes
Red Potatoes - as many or as few as you would like
Spray Butter
Parmesan Cheese

Wash your potatoes and cut them in half. Spray the flat side with spray butter and then dip them butter side down into parmesan cheese. Place potates on a cookie sheet and bake in the oven for 30-45 minutes on 350 degrees. Then enjoy! It's super nummy, low in fat, and red potatoes count as a veggie!

To add your recipe, click comments and leave your recipe in the comments section. If you are having problems with it, please email me.
